The buzz leading up to UFC 83 in Montreal has been insane. It is the largest sanctioned MMA event in North America with 21,000 tickets sold out in one day; UFC’s debut in Canada flaunts a highly anticipated title fight featuring the Canadian fighter George St. Pierre. We at pressure* identified this as an amazing opportunity that our friend and client Yahoo! could take advantage of. MMA is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports in North America, and UFC is leading the charge.
By sponsoring the UFC event and implementing an experiential marketing plan, Yahoo! has made themselves a part of the MMA experience. It has become a perfect opportunity for them to drive more traffic to their sports pages and bring a cool, hip feel to their brand. pressure* made possible for Yahoo! the opportunity to present the official UFC parties that weekend. We formalized for them the opportunity and mass publicity to create an interactive experience they could use on a number of different levels. They will be able to entertain preferred clients, attract more user traffic and develop exciting brand collateral. Fighter interviews were also coordinated with the media during these events as a means to shining the spotlight on the Yahoo! brand and broadcast it around the world.
pressure* connected Yahoo! with Randy Couture, Sean Shrek and all the right people in order to make it happen. If you are trying to make a splash and capture the attention of your consumers contact us and apply pressure*. pressure* is Toronto’s first all competition creative outsource studio. We specialize in viral, guerilla, buzz, social and word-of-mouth marketing.
